Is Nemo Spoiled?

He has 4 beds with fantastic views we only have one.

He eats human grade organic, grass-fed meats and wild sockeye salmon we eat generic brand hot dogs and MacDonald’s 2-can-dine meals.

His room is 500sqft ours is, oh, 200?

He has a deluxe combo of tent+tunnels+house and an outdoor (enclosed) vacation home which we’re building under his supervision we have a 3 person tent.

He gets a follow up phone call from his doctor after every visit we get scolded by our doctor’s receptionist for asking for an earlier appointment.

He has, oh, 1,500 photos taken in the past 2 1/2 years we have 1, for passport purpose.

We feel guilty when we don’t feed him on time but when we miss a meal or two we call it life.

We have read 20-30 books about his nutrition, behaviors, and emotions we think human self-help books is a scam.

He has a blog/website 100% dedicated to him and his life we have an e-mail address that is full of newsletters from Catster, Petsmo, and other cat blogs.

We watch videos about how to trim his nails properly we bite our nails instead of using a nail clipper.

Naah I wouldn’t say he is spoiled. We are honored to be of service to him.

Breakfast: 65g Non-medicated raw chicken with bones for dogs, 1 capsules PB8 Pro-Biotic Acidophilus For Life , 1 perle Wheat germ oil fortified
Morning play: 10 minutes. half-dead furry mouse on a fishing rod.

We’ve finally started working on Nemo’s “Outdoor vacation home”. Our plan is to make it removable for our pathetic Vancouver weather. It requires a lot of planning. We had to think about how long it’d take to assemble, the stability, and also the practicality. Finally Mike came up with a good design. All the panels are either removable or foldable. The whole structure collapses into 4 manageable pieces. They are attached together with small hooks. A door will be added to the side where the BBQ grill is so we have easy access. The whole enclosure will be covered with a multi-purpose outdoor net.

Nemo will be able to come in and out of his home from the window under the roof. Inside the house we’ll make a catwalk that leads to this window.

We figured if Nemo doesn’t like it or we change our mind about letting Nemo out we can always donate it to Katie’s Place Animal Shelter.

Time Share

Intensive NemoThis time-share thing happening in our backyard is going out of control. First it was the 3 amigos. Now there’s this nameless yellow fellow that actually sprayed on our deck! The nerve of that dude!! The 3 amigos dutyly chase him away whenever they see him but they are certainly no match for him when they’re alone. Susie tries to tell the 3 amigos that they shouldn’t take him on, that only Nemo is capable of kicking his butt but Nemo is in a lock up. I’m glad she realizes that but shouldn’t she let the superhero out to save the world???? As a matter of fact, I know this dude. I know what he is after. I can just see it in his eyes. I used to be him when I was unsnipped wandering on the street. I hope he’ll stay away from the 3 amigos.

Just the other day I saw another unknown calico sitting at the entrance of our yard. What, are we all of a sudden a public park or something??? At least let me in on this time-share thing so I can prosper, too!

Nemo was really hungry tonight. He meowed very loudly whenever we were in the kitchen. I gave him a chicken neck as snack at night but he was still hungry after that. He acted so weird that we started to wonder if he vomited somewhere. It didn’t look like he did. He slept against me all night. At one point I woke up hearing him purr. He must’ve been really happy. He realized that I was awake so he got up and slammed himself against me. He rubbed my chin like crazy and flipped over a little to let me rub his tummy. It almost seems that the hungrier he feels the happier he is. Funny!

We bought a bag of wild salmon tips from a raw pet food vendor in the Vancouver Farmer’s Market yesterday. It’s the first time I fed Nemo raw salmon with bones. In the past we’ve only given him salmon and tuna sashimi. I’ve always wanted to feed him a whole fish, especially the fish head. Salmon tail tip was the first step toward my goal. I put the salmon chunk on a kabob stick, the same way I fed him beef or chicken chunks. Nemo probably had very little fish/seafood in his life. He didn’t seem to like the salmon very much. By saying so, I mean he didn’t try to swallow the whole thing within 2 seconds. He was having trouble breaking the skin in the beginning and it frustrated him. He turned away twice but came back to the fish right away. It took him about 10-15 minutes to finish the chunk. I was surprised how hard he had to chew to break the fish and bones. I think this is a good alternative to chicken drumsticks.

Nemo was very active tonight. He initiated playing by attacking a home-made mouse in the living room and jumping on the stairs. I took the hint and took out his green mouse on a fishing rod. He went nuts. I think his desire to play indicated that he was hungry. After more than 2 years of being served meals after playtimes, he learned to associate playing and eating.

Makeover to My Life As Nemo

We’re giving a makeover to the website. All the contents and structure will remain the same but we’re changing the design. I don’t necessarily like this design better than the one before but I think it’s more organized and easier to find the way around. At the moment we’re still fixing the “About Nemo” and “Susie’s Corner”. Hope we’ll get it done before the weekend is over.

Ninja ran into the house twice today. In the morning she went downstairs, where Nemo was. A few seconds later we saw her run out the door. Nemo was no where to be found. In the evening she came in the house again. This time Nemo followed and ran after her. He didn’t hiss or growl but he swatted at her. Ninja ran out the door right after that. Nemo didn’t seem to be upset or anything. I bet he was proud he made it clear that this was his domain.
