I made a new batch of veggie mixture today containing the following vegetables: organic kales, celery, green leaf lettuce, and re-hydrated seaweed. Kelp is said to be very good for cats because it contains vitamins A, B1, B3, B6, B12, C, and E, plus zinc, biotin, bromine calcium, choline, copper, inositol, iodine, PABA, potassium, selenium, sodium, sulphur, trace elements and fiber. I don’t have kelp but I do have some dried seaweeds that I got from a friend for making Japanese miso soup. I figured seaweeds and kelp were probably very similar so I re-hydrated some and mixed in with the vegetable mixture. I offered only the re-hydrated seaweeds to Nemo but, to my surprise, he wasn’t crazy about it. He did eat some but he walked away leaving about half on the plate. The veggie mixture, however, he accepted OK with his meat.
