The past few days I’ve been playing with Nemo in the kitchen. He loves playing hide-and-seek with his toy around the kitchen island. The choice of toy is usually the fly or the hot pink feather. He chases the toy as I move it around the island. I let him catch the thing at least once every few laps and let him savor the moment for a while. He LOVES this game. He usually can’t resist when I move his toy into hiding in front of him.Nemo sitting

Before bed I had him practice the following commands: Sit, Lie down, Stay, Up, and Off. He is sneaky. He knows that I rotate these commands so he would just do whatever he thought I would say next, even BEFORE I give the command. Since I only practice 5 commands, the odds of him hitting the right command are quite high. For example, he knows that “UP” is usually followed by an “OFF” so he’d sometimes jump off right after he got onto the perch box. To counter that, I have to squeeze in a “SIT” or “LIE DOWN” between “UP” and “OFF”. Those books aren’t kidding when they say you have to outsmart a cat to train her.
